About Us
A Personalized Message to Prospective Patients
If you’re anything like my typical patient, you’ve likely found yourself frustrated with your physician or healthcare system. You’ve been doubted and told which treatment you’re getting, rather than being provided with options. You’ve faced treatment failures, with the next steps feeling arbitrary, as if treatments are merely being thrown against the wall to see what sticks.
If this describes your experience, I’m sorry. And I understand. As a child, I witnessed my own father, a battalion fire chief, get marginalized and pigeonholed following an evaluation for a diabetic foot ulcer. It was erroneously diagnosed with only one solution: leg amputation. It was the first and only time I saw my father cry. The worst part of the encounter, besides the poor bedside manner and lack of empathy, was the surgeon’s inability to explain his rationale, his “why” this needed to be done. Ideally, he would have outlined what other alternatives and options existed that had scientific merit.
The diagnosis proved to be incorrect.
Surgery wasn’t necessary, and both pain resolution and function improved through the care of my smart, courageous, and stubborn mother. That experience still lives vividly in my mind and heart as a physician.
Cutting Edge Health was designed and built to help patients understand their options for treatment and to provide scientifically based treatments, both mainstream and alternative, depending on what’s best for the individual.
If knowing your options for treatment, being included in the dialogue of your own care, and pursuing the best cutting-edge therapies to get you back on your feet and leading the life you deserve sounds appealing, it would be my honor and privilege to play a role in your care.
All the best,
